The purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to patients through communication, clerical duties, and transcription of orders. The CNA reports directly to the Unit Department Director, Nursing Shift Supervisor or RN. The CNA has contact with patients, patient families and visitors, LRH employees, referral agencies, volunteers, administration, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position.

The CNA must be able to secure cooperation from others, problem‑solve, exercise initiative and judgment, and have above‑average communication skills. The CNA must be able to follow instructions of licensed personnel and work cooperatively with others.

Casual (less than 32 hours biweekly) with the requirement to pick up a minimum of one shift every 90 days.

Hourly wage range: $18.48 – $25.09. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

• Must be registered as a CNA with the Minnesota registry or be registry eligible upon hire.
• During employment, must be on the Minnesota Nursing Registry within one year of starting as a CNA. MN Nursing Registry renewals must be verified as active 6 months from expiration date.
• Must hold current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or obtain it within 6 months.
• High school education or equivalent preferred. Previous medical terminology experience desirable.
