We are looking for a dynamic, hands‑on Science Teacher who understands that middle schoolers learn best when they are investigating, testing, and sometimes making a mess in the pursuit of a breakthrough. You are the mentor who helps students bridge the gap between “what happens” and “why it happens.”

As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will inspire and support students in reaching their academic and scientific goals. You will deliver high‑quality, inquiry‑based instruction that aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), focusing specifically on the developmental needs of 7th and 8th grade learners. Working collaboratively with your building team and community partners, you will create a supportive, student‑centered environment that empowers every scholar to think like a scientist and act like an innovator.

• Certified Professional: Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Middle School Science (5-9) or General Science (7-12).
• Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required;
  Master’s degree, preferred.
• Lab Leader: You are a pro at managing classroom labs, ensuring safety while maximizing student‑led exploration.
• Equity Champion: You are committed to “Science for All,” ensuring that every student sees the relevance of STEM in their own community and future career.
• Relational Expert: You enjoy the high energy of 7th and 8th graders and know how to build the strong relationships that make academic rigor possible.

• Ignite Inquiry: Design and lead engaging, project‑based lessons that challenge students to solve real‑world problems using the scientific method.
• Master the Standards: Implement the district’s science curriculum with a focus on 7th and 8th grade core concepts, including integrated physical and life sciences.
• Utilize Premier Assets: Take learning beyond the classroom by utilizing the Challenger Learning Center and Little Creek Nature Area for immersive field experiences.
• Collaborate for Growth: Partner with your grade‑level PLC to analyze student data, share successful lab strategies, and ensure all students are on a trajectory for high school success.
• Foster Literacy: Help students master the art of scientific communication—reading complex texts, writing lab reports, and presenting evidence‑based arguments.

• Classification: Exempt, Certified Staff
• Work Year: 10-Month Academic Calendar (187 Contract Days)
• Salary: Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule, determined by experience and education level.
