Position Purpose
Project Engineers are responsible for supporting the technical execution and delivery of Division 08 scopes within construction projects. This includes doors, frames, hardware and related specialties. The Project Engineer assists in project planning, submittal coordination, and technical support, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Essential Functions- Provide Value that Wins Customers for Life
- Support Project Managers and Sales in planning, coordinating, and executing Division 08 scope
- Interpret Division 08 specifications and related specifications
- Assess architectural, electrical, and structural drawings related to Division 08
- Review and coordinate hardware schedules with door and frame details
- Ensure all Division 08 components comply with building codes, safety requirements and project specifications
- Identify product conflicts and communicate recommended solutions
- Prepare and manage submittals, shop drawings, clarifications, and material costs
- Maintain document log for new drawings, specs, submittals, and clarifications
- Manage material and cost changes related to new documents and returned submittals
- Assist Project Managers in coordinating material for procurement
- Interface with Project Managers and field teams to resolve design or installation issues
- Attend project meetings to contribute technical guidance with general contractors, architects, and consultants as required
- 5 or more years related experience
- Some college preferred
- Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with detailing software preferred
- A positive attitude and the ability to maintain professional, long-term co-worker, customer, vendor, and business relationships

- Strong professional verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of management
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks, simultaneous projects and conflicting deadlines
