The following noninstructional vacancies are listed in the Human Resources Department for the  school year.

POSITION: Hardware Technician
LOCATION: Technology Systems / County Office
ANNUAL EMPLOYMENT: Twelve Months (260 Days)/7 Hours Daily
SALARY RANGE: $53,034.80 - $55,437.20
(While in effect, additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually. For the  school year, the amount for this position is $8,128 and will be prorated from July 1, 2025.)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates' degree or higher in electronics or computer technology and repair. Knowledge of data processing techniques or equivalent combination of training and experience, and/or
  • A minimum combination of five years successful education, training or experience in computer hardware installation, repair and troubleshooting.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    (01) Develop short and long-range plans for the support of technology.
    (02) Install, troubleshoot, and upgrade software resources as needed.
    (03) Utilize troubleshooting tools and methodologies toward maximizing the life of district technology resources.
    (04) Maintain daily logs of all activities and record all actions with sufficient level of detail to track maintenance activities.
    (05) Assist in the development of a manual of computer-related topics.
    (06) Learn new technologies as needed to provide optimal user support.
    (07) Assist in the repair and maintenance of district computer equipment.
    (08) Provide support and assistance and advice to users, interpreting problems and providing technical support for hardware, software, and systems across Windows, and Macintosh based systems and configurations.
    (09) Assist with software duplication services for district licensed software.
    (10) Install equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and correct problems on computers (mainframes, minis, and micros), peripheral equipment, and other related equipment.
    (11) Install and configure software and operating systems.
    (12) Direct technology related professional development initiatives.
    (13) Assist with Help Desk activities on a periodic schedule.
    (14) Visit sites to determine needs, troubleshoot, and provide user support.
    (15) Surpluses outdated equipment as necessary and comply with paperwork requirements.
    (16) Prioritize and schedule work accordingly with Office of Instructional initiatives.
    (17) Establish and maintain a reference section of technical manuals and guides of common manufacturers.
    (18) Performs other related tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Light/Medium Work:
    Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
