Mixer Operator – 2nd Shift

The Mixer Operator plays a key role in producing high-quality hummus and salsa in a refrigerated food and beverage manufacturing environment. Working on 2nd shift, you will operate and monitor filler and mixing equipment, ensure accurate filling of containers, and follow strict food safety and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, comfort with machinery and computers, and the ability to work in a cold, fully PPE-suited production area.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor filler machines that dispense hummus and salsa into plastic containers according to production requirements.
  • Learn and follow the complete production process for making hummus and salsa, including mixer and filler operations.
  • Follow all SQF and GMP policies and procedures to maintain strict food safety and quality standards.
  • Report any food safety or product quality concerns immediately to quality personnel and/or management.
  • Keep supplies, tools, and materials neat, organized, and protected throughout the shift.
  • Perform wash-down and cleaning of machines according to the changeover flow chart and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor fill levels and periodically perform weight checks using a scale, adjusting machine settings to maintain proper weights.
  • Verify that the correct cups and lids are used for each product according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain a sanitation bucket at all times and use it as required to keep the work area and equipment clean.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment, such as adjusting seals, replenishing cups and lids, and resolving minor mechanical issues.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while tending to the machine and maintaining consistent production flow.
  • Use computer interfaces or control panels to navigate machine settings and production screens as needed.
  • Lift and move materials and supplies up to 40 lbs as part of routine production activities.
  • Support a safe and clean work environment by following all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE at all times.
Essential Skills
  • Experience tending to a machine in a production or industrial environment, performing various tasks at once.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills, including adjusting seals, adding cups, and adding lids on production equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Comfort using a computer, including basic navigation such as toggling through applications or screens.
  • Experience using a scale and understanding product weight, including basic adding and subtracting for weight checks.
  • Ability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment for the duration of the shift.
  • Willingness and ability to wear full PPE, including lab coat, hair net, beard net (if applicable), and rubber gloves.
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to consistently meet scheduled shift times.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when monitoring fill levels, weights, and packaging components.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an industrial or automotive setting with exposure to production machinery.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment such as filling machines or mixers.
  • Familiarity with equipment that runs on pneumatics and hydraulics, including valves and hoses.
  • Comfort working across different shifts or extended hours when production requires it.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
