Our client, a leading company specializing in the chemical plant industry
, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Remanufacturing Technician to join their team. This position is responsible for monitoring and operating remanufacturing processes, handling materials, operating industrial equipment, completing production documentation, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and able to work safely around chemicals, industrial equipment, and hazardous materials.
Job ResponsibilitiesMonitor and operate processes within the remanufacturing department.
Manage batch tickets and complete Process Pro data entry for batch postings.
Safely operate equipment to complete production orders and batches.
Perform material off-loading, handling, processing, and loading.
Operate forklifts, drum pickers/squeezers, yard switchers, and other plant vehicles.
Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs or maintenance.
Maintain clean and organized work areas using Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
.Utilize Kanban principles to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent unnecessary material buildup.
Assist with securing and maintaining plant operations during weekend shutdowns.
Identify and communicate opportunities for process and workplace improvements.
Work closely with laboratory, health and safety, production, management, and other departments.
Remain alert to safety and security concerns and report suspicious or unusual findings to supervisors.
Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE and respiratory protection.
Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic math skills equivalent to a high school level.
Comfortable using computers regularly for production and data-entry tasks.
Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
Self-motivated and able to work effectively with limited direct supervision.
Previous chemical or hazardous-material handling experience is
REQUIRED.Must be able to safely operate a forklift and yard switcher.
Previous industrial, manufacturing, chemical processing, or remanufacturing experience is REQUIRED.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
.Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
Ability to wear an air-purifying respirator and other required safety equipment.
Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts.
Location: Ferndale, MI
Pay: $24/hour starting wage; increases to $25/hour upon direct hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
