Kona Bicycle Company is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Operations team in Ferndale, Washington. This role is the day-to-day accounting engine of the business, responsible for customer invoicing, accounts payable entry, accounts receivable transaction processing, intercompany billing, bank reconciliation preparation, and supporting month-end close activities within Acumatica, our ERP system of record.
The ideal candidate is accurate, organized, systems-oriented, and service-focused. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, continuously improving processes, and collaborating with colleagues across finance, operations, sales, warehouse, and logistics teams. Kona is actively building AI and automation into its finance function, and this role will play an important part in identifying efficiencies and improving how work gets done.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and issue customer invoices in Acumatica accurately and on time.
- Process vendor invoices and accounts payable transactions, including three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Process customer credits, returns, rebills, and invoice corrections.
- Support intercompany billing and international documentation between Kona entities.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready support for all assigned transactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI, automation, and process improvements.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, bookkeeping, or accounting operations. We'll happily consider recent graduates!
- Working knowledge of core accounting concepts including AP, AR, GL coding, reconciliations, and documentation standards.
- Experience working in an ERP or accounting system;
Acumatica experience is preferred. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning AI and automation tools.
$25.00 – $30.00 per hour
, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit. The position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
