The SVP of Finance serves as a strategic partner to the CEO in this #1 level position, driving profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation. This role blends day-to-day financial leadership with forward-looking strategy, overseeing core functions while helping guide growth initiatives including M&A, capital deployment, and market expansion. The position requires a proactive, data-driven leader who can challenge assumptions, implement scalable systems, and align financial strategy with business performance.
Responsibilities- Drive profitability through improved margin performance, cost discipline, and pricing strategies.
- Partner with operations to analyze materials, labor, and overhead, identifying inefficiencies and cost overruns.
- Implement scalable financial processes, systems, and forecasting tools to support growth.
- Provide leadership oversight across Accounting, IT, and Equipment functions.
- Leverage data analytics and technology to improve decision-making and operational performance.
- Support the CEO on strategic initiatives including M&A strategy, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, risk management, and capital allocation strategies.
- Oversee asset management, treasury, and working capital optimization.
- Partner with shareholders and financial stakeholders, including bonding companies and tax advisors.
- Participate in Board of Advisors meetings and support governance and succession planning efforts.
- Proven financial leadership experience in a hands-on, operationally focused environment
- Strong track record of driving profitability, cost control, and financial performance
- Experience partnering with executive leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives
- M&A experience including diligence, structuring, and integration preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale financial processes, systems, and teams
- Expertise in financial planning, capital strategy, and risk management
- Strong communication skills with experience engaging boards, shareholders, and external partners
- Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging analytics and technology to improve outcomes
