Community Ministry Worker

Engage with the community as a Community Ministry Worker at The Salvation Army in Fernie. This full-time role emphasizes food service coordination, compliance with health regulations, and donor interactions.

In this position with The Salvation Army East Kootenay Circuit, you will assist in food recovery, janitorial tasks, and drive to pick up donations. Your work will involve managing food services to ensure adherence to the Canada Food Guide and support for various operations. You'll build connections with guests and help monitor their well-being as part of a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in sorting and distributing food donations

• Maintain cleanliness and adherence to health standards

• Drive for donations and recycling as required

• Engage with donors and provide directional support

• Monitor equipment and assist with inventory tracking

Requirements:

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent experience

• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract

• Minimum two years related experience required

• Safe Food Handling Certification is mandatory

• Strong communication and organizational skills
