Salary Range: $50,761-$92,279 annually with employer‑paid retirement, dependent upon previous experience.
Terms of Employment: 9 months (185/189 days).
FLSA Status: EXEMPT, salaried position assigned to the Licensed Employee Salary Schedule.
The teacher will implement daily student instruction with the Nevada Academic Content State Standards and the LCSD approved curriculum. They will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and goals. The teacher must adhere to the LCSD Professional Standards for licensed employees and report directly to the school site administrator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Administer appropriate district curriculum aligned with Nevada State Standards or Common Core.
- Ensure all students can learn in a respectful environment.
- Create and maintain a positive, orderly, academically focused instructional environment.
- Develop and implement effective lessons using the LCSD lesson plan template.
- Analyze student progress and provide individualized instruction and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with special services such as IEPs and related mandates.
- Provide classroom management and discipline ensuring safety at all times.
- Actively contribute to the School Performance Plan (SPP) process.
- Ensure compliance with assessment regulations and guidelines.
- Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
- Handle stress appropriately and interact professionally with administration, staff, parents, and community.
- Integrate technology into instructional programs, curriculum, and lessons.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in the student software system (e.g., Infinite Campus).
- Participate in related job duties and activities as assigned.
- Maintain regular punctuality and attendance.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to instruct in an elementary classroom.
- Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members.
- Guide learning toward curriculum and student goals.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with objectives.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
- Improve professional competence through continued education and in‑service training.
- Communicate professionally and effectively in written, oral, and non‑verbal terms.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Education and Training: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Licenses and
Certifications:
Must hold or be able to obtain a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education, certified for the relevant subject area.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSStrength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods; stamina to bend, stoop, sit, and stand for long periods; dexterity to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds. Must operate educational technology such as LCD projector, Smart Board, iPads/Tablets. Requires hearing and speech for communication. WORKINGCONDITIONS
Work in climate‑controlled classrooms and outdoor settings with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat. Exposure to moderate to very loud noise levels as needed, crowded environments, classroom furniture, playground/office equipment, communicable diseases, chemicals, and power/hand‑operated equipment.
