Overview

It is the responsibility of the Special Events Coordinator to plan and implement various promotional activities related to all marketing programs. This person will assist in determining the demand for products and services offered by Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe, along with its competitors, and identify potential customers. Responsibilities will include special events, advertising and direct marketing. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities
  • Casino Marketing Promotion setup/review in multiple applications.
  • Manages receipt of invoices, requests postage for all direct mail jobs
  • Preparing marketing reports
  • Implements large scale Direct Marketing campaigns, giveaways, tournaments and other events
  • Responsible for producing and sending mobile push notifications/offers to targeted groups of players
  • Database maintenance related to data entry, data updates, data querying.
  • Perform data checks on direct mail offers to ensure the correct offers are being sent to the correct group of customers
  • Miscellaneous marketing tasks and projects as needed
  • Proofread and quality control of marketing materials
  • Maintain strict deadlines
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for completing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Assists with execution of tournaments, promotions, events, and entertainment
  • Collect payment in the form of cash, casino chips, and credit cards while accurately recording all transactions and balancing money post‑event
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, proofreading, analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi‑tasking, organization and prioritization skills required.
  • A team player with strong communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to a fluid environment.
  • Computer literate / internet and technically savvy.
  • Conscientious and detail oriented with good grammar and writing skills.
  • Desire to learn all aspects of marketing.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • Interact with members of the marketing staff, casino guests and other casino departments in a friendly, understandable, and responsible manner.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Access experience desirable. SQL/VBA knowledge a plus.
  • Understanding of direct mail list segmentation techniques and theories is desirable.
  • Specific knowledge of relational database query software and client relationship management tools desirable.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively, handle multiple high priority projects concurrently and react quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Must be a quick learner and be able to build on existing business foundations.
  • Must be very detail oriented, well organized and self‑motivated.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration.
  • Must be able to work a varying schedule with different hours and days week to week.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two years’ experience in comparable roles
  • Minimum age requirement is 21

Must be able to speak and understand English.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
  • Frequently stooping, reaching.
Work Environment
  • Work performed indoors in a climate‑controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke‑filled environment.
  • Work with others in close spaces.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
  • Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
Tipped Position

This position does not earn tips.
