Compensation ranges from $25.82 to $47.50 per hour, plus additional H&W/hour and the opportunity to achieve a production/goal incentive.

As a Background Field Investigator, you will conduct federal background investigations and prepare detailed reports that adhere to Federal Investigative Standards, laws, and agency regulations. The role involves outputting reports within strict timelines, meeting production metrics, and traveling as required within the geographic area of responsibility.

• Conduct comprehensive one‑on‑one subject and source interviews to gather background information and character insights.
• Review records meticulously to resolve material issues and establish qualifications of subjects.
• Produce thorough investigative reports that meet federal requirements and agency guidelines.
• Travel to employment, residence, and educational sites as part of the investigative process.
• Engage with government organizations, contractors, and law enforcement agencies to maintain professional relationships.

• Active Top‑Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma with at least 1 year of the last 3 years working on a Federal BI contract.
• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally daily depending on assignment location.
• Home office equipped with high‑speed internet and a fax line; laptop will be provided by the government customer.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including typing detailed, extensive reports.
• Completion of the National Training Standards course.
• Efficiency and accuracy in investigations, meeting quality, timeliness, and production metrics.
• Regular engagement with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, U.S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies.
• Workload based on case availability.
