Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate the overhead crane to safely transfer incoming crushed stone and other raw materials to designated storage and processing areas.
  • Fill raw mill feed bins and finish mill bins to maintain continuous production.
  • Keep crusher chutes clean, free of obstructions, and operating efficiently.
  • Perform pre-operational, operational, and post-operational inspections of the crane and associated equipment.
  • Identify equipment deficiencies, report issues to supervision, complete minor repairs within the scope of responsibility, and submit work orders for repairs requiring maintenance support.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by performing routine housekeeping in designated cleanup areas.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with the Shift Foreman, Console Operator, Loader Operator, A Helper, Crusher Operator, and other team members to coordinate material movement and maintain production efficiency.
  • Follow all company safety policies, MSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience operating overhead cranes or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
  • Experience in cement manufacturing, mining, aggregate processing, or other heavy industrial environments is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine lubrication and minor equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand operating procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Safe operation of overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
  • Understanding of material flow within a cement manufacturing process.
  • Ability to recognize mechanical problems and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Ability to prioritize work while maintaining production demands.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined industrial environments.
  • Ability to work in dusty, noisy, hot, and cold conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions

This position works in a heavy industrial cement manufacturing environment and is exposed to moving machinery, vibration, dust, noise, temperature extremes, and outdoor weather conditions. Compliance with all company safety rules and the use of required PPE is mandatory.
