The Development Coordinator serves as the local, on-the-ground Resource Development professional responsible for implementing fundraising, special event, donor stewardship, and marketing strategies established in partnership with BGCTM’s Reno Resource Development leadership team and the Area Director. This position brings organization-wide Resource Development strategy to life at the local level by coordinating day-to-day communications, executing fundraising events, supporting donor stewardship, developing local marketing materials using approved templates and schedules, and providing timely fundraising and marketing reporting.
The Development Coordinator works within established BGCTM processes, templates, brand standards, budgets, timelines, and fundraising goals while using their knowledge of the local community to successfully execute these efforts. The position will receive training and ongoing support from Reno Resource Development leadership and will have access, as appropriate, to tools including Canva, local social media accounts, Constant Contact, and eventually Club Hub donor reporting and tracking resources.
Resource Development & Donor Stewardship
- Serve as the local point person for the day-to-day execution of Resource Development initiatives and fundraising strategies established in partnership with the Area Director and Reno Resource Development leadership team.
- Support the Area Director and local Board with donor stewardship, donor communication, prospect engagement, sponsorship follow-up, and relationship-building activities.
- Assist with identifying and cultivating local donors and prospects, with the opportunity to eventually develop and manage an assigned portfolio of donor relationships in coordination with Reno Resource Development leadership.
- Facilitate donation acknowledgement letters for the Area Director to review and sign, using approved templates and local Board letterhead. Coordinate printing and mailing; donation entry, gift processing, and official donor database records remain the responsibility of the Reno Director of Donor Database.
- Following fundraising events, coordinate timely thank-you letters and communications to event participants, sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, and other supporters using messaging reviewed and approved by the Reno Special Events Director.
- Respond to local donor inquiries and appropriately connect donors with the Area Director or Reno Resource Development staff when additional follow-up is needed.
- Following training and authorization, utilize Club Hub to access donor reports, Board reports, donor history, and other approved donor-tracking resources.
- Serve as the primary local coordinator responsible for executing BGCTM fundraising events within the assigned community.
- Work closely with the Reno Special Events Director and Area Director to implement event strategy, timelines, themes, processes, and fundraising goals established by BGCTM leadership.
- Develop event budgets based on fundraising and net-revenue goals established with Reno Resource Development leadership, using approved BGCTM budget templates and processes.
- Work closely with the Reno Special Events Director to track event revenue, expenses, sponsor ships, auction performance, registrations, and other key event metrics, and provide regular updates on event performance to the Area Director and local Board.
