Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, NJ License - PMHNP (Contract/1099) – Remote

Blackbird Health is a clinician-founded organization focused on pediatric mental health. We provide virtual and in-person services across Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey and are expanding to new markets in 2026.

Position Summary
:
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. You will build therapeutic relationships, monitor patient progress, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure safety and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for youth clients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing medication management.
• Educate and empower families about diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive strategies.
• Monitor patient progress against care goals and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Coordinate with therapists, specialists, and other providers to create integrated care plans.
• Maintain HIPAA‑compliant, thorough documentation and diagnostic records.
• Handle administrative tasks such as refills, prior authorizations, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Active PMHNP license in New Jersey.
• Minimum of 2 years independent practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
• At least 1 year experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults.
• Board certification by ANCC or AANP (PMHNP‑BC).
• DEA license, State Prescriptive Authority License & CDS.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, electronic medical record systems.
• Commitment to a minimum of 10 hours per week and flexibility to work core hours (4‑8 pm ET Monday–Friday, full weekend 8 am‑7 pm).

Salary Range
: $120–$140 USD per hour.
