Rn Program Coordinator

Responsibilities

Sierra Medical Center is part of Northern Nevada Health System, a regional multi‑facility system that provides quality care. The RN Program Coordinator position is full‑time (40 hours per week) and involves direct patient care for adult populations in a surgical setting.

The role includes:

• Providing direct patient care and addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Communicating effectively with physicians, team members, and vendors regarding required implants and supplies.
• Assessing operating rooms for equipment function, supplies, implants, and readiness.
• Assisting in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all requirements of the surgical team are met.
• Monitoring, positioning, and assisting patients during procedures.
• Serving as a team member and resource for the Surgical Services Department.
• Participating in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

• Responsible for specified service line, including supply management, physician relations and satisfaction, vendor relations, and education of staff.
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
• Functions as a liaison to service‑specific vendors, coordinating flow of materials and collaborating with Sterile Processing to meet patient and physician needs.
• Assists in policy review and physician order set development.
• Trains all nursing staff in the specific service line.

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nevada.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years operating room experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
