Responsibilities
Sierra Medical Center is part of Northern Nevada Health System, a regional multi‑facility system that provides quality care. The RN Program Coordinator position is full‑time (40 hours per week) and involves direct patient care for adult populations in a surgical setting.
The role includes:
- Providing direct patient care and addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- Communicating effectively with physicians, team members, and vendors regarding required implants and supplies.
- Assessing operating rooms for equipment function, supplies, implants, and readiness.
- Assisting in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all requirements of the surgical team are met.
- Monitoring, positioning, and assisting patients during procedures.
- Serving as a team member and resource for the Surgical Services Department.
- Participating in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Responsible for specified service line, including supply management, physician relations and satisfaction, vendor relations, and education of staff.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Functions as a liaison to service‑specific vendors, coordinating flow of materials and collaborating with Sterile Processing to meet patient and physician needs.
- Assists in policy review and physician order set development.
- Trains all nursing staff in the specific service line.

- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nevada.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years operating room experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
