Senior Maintenance Technician - Automation

The Senior Maintenance Technician for Automation assists with the design, implementation, maintenance, and repair of all automated systems within the Customer Fulfillment Center.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, including inspections, repairs, and services according to manufacturer guidelines and specifications.
• Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced technicians during off‑hours.
• Schedule routine maintenance and perform work on assigned automation equipment.
• Identify, order, and replace parts required for routine maintenance and repairs.
• Enter data for work orders and maintenance time sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Respond to service requests and work orders with minimal supervision, ensuring minimal disruption to distribution center operations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with automation systems and equipment.
• Work as a contributing member of the Maintenance team to maximize uptime for the Customer Fulfillment Center.
• Interpret machine and building drawings.
• Organize the workshop and maintain assigned tools and test equipment; order replacement parts as needed.
• Document and communicate potential safety issues related to material handling systems, equipment, or facility, following safety SOPs.
• Support the Safety Culture through safety team participation and by offering safety suggestions.
• Assist leaders in identifying and mitigating risks to associates and the business.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as necessary.
• Foster MSC culture throughout the department and company.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
• Carry out all duties within safety guidelines.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of job‑related experience.
• Certification or degree in a related maintenance area.
• Training in automation equipment.
• At least two years of experience troubleshooting and repairing control equipment, including PLCs; programming experience desired but not required.
• Proficiency with conveyor system parts and operation (e.g., merges, sorters, VFDs, motors).
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Capability to operate scissor or boom lifts and work from heights of 30 to 50 ft.
• Ability to work safely and utilize lock‑out/tag‑out procedures during repairs.
• Comfortable working in high‑pressure situations.
• Willingness to perform tasks efficiently and quickly.
• Experience performing maintenance on machines such as robotic packing, print/label applicators, AMR, and modular picking equipment.
• Experience in industrial/warehouse settings.
• Advanced computer literacy (Excel, Word).
• Must obtain MSC license to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.

Sitting, standing, walking, and lifting materials up to 75 pounds (individual or team lift). Requires use of personal protective equipment and ability to operate at heights up to 50 ft.

Starting salary: $19.18 – $30.14 per hour, depending on location and experience. Salary range is based on market conditions and role equivalency.
