Position Overview
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a state‑licensed prescriber or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Unit OverviewWe are also known as the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The unit is an intermediate level between intensive care and med/surg, handling cardiac, respiratory distress, and septic patients. Vents are not used; the unit mainly serves cardiac patients and acute respiratory patients requiring high‑flow oxygen or new bi‑PAP. The care mix includes any other disease process in which the physicians determine the patient is too sick for the floor but not yet ICU level.
The unit is fast‑paced, combining aspects of ED and ICU, requiring strong assessment skills and teamwork.
- Cardiac Med Intermediate LPN – 24 hours per week, nights

- Graduate LPN: $3,000
- Experienced LPN: $4,000

Education:
Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school - License:
Current LPN license in the state or the ability to obtain one within 90 days - Certifications:
Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) and IV certification within 1 year
