Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse – PRN

• Assist cardiologists and healthcare professionals during angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, electrophysiology studies, and valvuloplasty
• Provide direct patient care during high-risk cardiac procedures
• Monitor vital signs, manage cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and respond to emergencies
• Prepare patients for catheterization and other cardiac procedures, explain the process, obtain medical history, and address concerns
• Scrub and circulate during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
• Monitor patients for post-procedural complications, provide recovery support, educate patients and families, and document outcomes
• Operate specialized cath lab equipment and assist with hemostasis devices
• Complete procedural checklists
• Collaborate with cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and other team members on individualized care plans and patient care coordination
• Participate in continuing education, clinical audits, and professional development activities

• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage cardiac emergencies
• Skilled in operating cath lab equipment and maintaining sterile fields
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to work under high-stress conditions
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN is often preferred
• Current RN license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures
• Ability to safely lift, turn, and transfer patients up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
• Fine motor skills for handling delicate instruments, managing IV lines, and maintaining precision in a sterile environment
• Strong manual dexterity for catheter manipulation, guide wires, and specialized cardiac catheterization equipment

Demonstrates expertise in cardiac procedures, including angioplasty and catheterization, while providing direct patient care and education. Proficient in operating specialized cath lab equipment and managing high-stress situations effectively.
