Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse

• Assist cardiologists and healthcare professionals during invasive cardiac procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, electrophysiology studies, and valvuloplasty
• Provide direct patient care during high-risk cardiac procedures
• Prepare patients by explaining procedures, obtaining medical history, and addressing concerns
• Scrub and circulate during procedures
• Monitor vital signs and manage cardiac rhythms
• Maintain a sterile environment
• Monitor patients for complications and provide recovery support
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care
• Document patient outcomes
• Operate specialized cath lab equipment and assist with hemostasis devices
• Complete procedural checklists
• Collaborate with cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and other team members on individualized care plans and coordinated patient care
• Participate in continuing education, clinical audits, and professional development activities

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN often preferred
• Current RN license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage cardiac emergencies
• Skilled in operating cath lab equipment and maintaining sterile fields
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to work under high-stress conditions
• Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures
• Ability to safely lift, turn, and transfer patients up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
• Fine motor skills for handling delicate instruments, managing IV lines, and maintaining precision in a sterile environment
• Strong manual dexterity for catheter manipulation, guide wires, and specialized cardiac catheterization equipment
• Willingness/ability to work on-call rotations for urgent procedures
