Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Our client is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support plant safety programs, employee training, regulatory compliance and injury prevention. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career safety professional interested in developing hands‑on experience in a cement manufacturing and MSHA-regulated environment.
Working closely with plant leadership and the Safety & Health Manager, you will help identify workplace hazards, investigate incidents, support safety training and ensure employees are working in accordance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
Responsibilities- Conduct plant safety, health, housekeeping and compliance inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support administration of plant safety and health programs.
- Observe employee work practices and identify potential hazards or safety violations.
- Work with plant departments during job planning to identify and address safety considerations.
- Support employee safety training and promote an accident‑free work environment.
- Collect and analyze inspection and safety data to identify recurring issues and opportunities for injury prevention.
- Participate in accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action development.
- Assist with MSHA inspections and review citations and compliance issues.
- Monitor changes to safety and health regulations and help implement programs necessary to maintain compliance.
- Provide safety support and oversight when the Safety & Health Manager is unavailable.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development related to workplace safety and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health or a related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of safety experience in mining, cement, aggregates, manufacturing, heavy industry or a similar environment preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and health regulations; MSHA knowledge or experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and proactively address unsafe conditions or work practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors and plant leadership.
- Ability to conduct safety training for individuals and groups.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, presentation and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A genuine interest in building a career in workplace health and safety.
