At the VELUX Group, we create more than roof windows. We create healthier indoor environments filled with daylight and fresh air — and we do it as an international, family-owned business with strong values and long-term thinking at our core.
Each year, we reinvest in society, our people and our planet through our foundations. It means when you join us, you’re part of something purposeful and financially strong — a company that genuinely believes in doing the right thing.
** We are currently looking for an HR Advisor, based in Glenrothes, to help us continue that mission by supporting our people and managers across our GBI Market.
**** This role is ideal for someone seeking reduced hours, without compromising on impact.
**** Meet your future team
** This is a hands-on, operational HR role where you’ll provide first-line guidance across employee relations and core HR processes — balancing legal compliance with commercial realities. You’ll work closely with managers, HR Business Partners and HR Support to deliver consistent, practical and value-adding HR support.
You won’t be working in isolation - You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and the wider People & Organisation team, ensuring a consistent, joined-up HR approach across the business.
** What we offer
** You will gain exposure to a broad range of people topics, develop your employee relations expertise, deepen your understanding of HR governance and data, and work alongside experienced colleagues who care about quality and doing things properly.
A big part of your role will be managing employee relations cases end-to-end. You will maintain clear documentation, assess risk, know when to escalate more complex matters, and ensure every case is handled professionally and fairly.
Alongside employee relations, you will play a key role in core HR processes — supporting performance cycles, coordinating talent reviews, administering salary and reward reviews, and following up on engagement initiatives. You will also use Workday to maintain accurate employee data, generate reports and provide insights that help inform better decision-making.
If you are looking for a role where you can apply your knowledge, build confidence and make a meaningful impact every day — we’d love to hear from you.
** What you will bring
** You are likely already operating as an HR Advisor/HR Officer with solid exposure to employee relations.
You have a good working knowledge of UK employment law, including the Employment Rights Act, and — more importantly — you know how to apply it in real situations.
You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities and you don’t shy away from difficult conversations. Managers trust you because your advice is clear, balanced and practical.
Ideally, you will also bring:
* Experience supporting performance management and reward processes
* Experience with maintaining/developing/creating HR Policies and Documentation
* The desire to keep up to date with changes in legislation and being able to apply these
* Strong HR systems capability, ideally with Workday
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build credible stakeholder relationships
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards Level
5) and experience in a matrix or multi-site environment would be advantageous.
