Why This Role Exists

BPI Medical is adding short-term capacity to support ongoing orthopedic and spinal medical device production. This role exists to ensure clean setups, safe prove-outs, and stable production handoff on complex simultaneous 5-axis work in a regulated medical environment.

This is a true setup ownership role, not an operator position.

The Work You'll Be Doing

In this contract role, you will:

• Independently set up and prove out simultaneous 5-axis CNC work
• Own work holding, fixturing, offsets, probing strategy, and tool verification
• Execute first-article prove-out with safe run-up and process stabilization
• Hand off stable, repeatable production to the floor
• Coordinate with QA/inspection to meet medical-grade acceptance criteria
• Maintain clean documentation and disciplined process control

Machines, Controls & Equipment

You'll work with equipment such as:

• 5-Axis VMCs: Matsuura MX-520 (strongly preferred)
• Controls: Fanuc or HEIDENHAIN (either acceptable with quick ramp-up)
• Inspection: In-process inspection tools in a quality-driven medical shop

Materials You'll Work With

• Titanium
• Cobalt Chrome (CoCr)
• Stainless Steel

What We're Looking For

Required (Must-Haves):

• Demonstrated ownership of 5-axis setups and prove-outs (not operator-only)
• Strong performance machining Ti, CoCr, and Stainless Steel
• Solid fundamentals: blueprint reading, GD&T awareness, disciplined documentation
• Proven ability to stabilize processes and hand off clean production

Strongly Preferred:

• Matsuura MX-520 experience
• Medical, aerospace, or other quality-driven manufacturing background

Pay, Per Diem & Contract Details

• Pay: Up to $45/hour (DOE)
• Per Diem: $150/day
• Overtime: Available
• Engagement: W-2 contract preferred
