Job Description Wet Coat Operator
Location:
Fife, WA
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 4AM-2:30PM Compensation: $22.00/hour-$25.00/hour (Depending on Experience) + $2.00/hour
The Wet Coat Operator is responsible for applying liquid coatings (resin or paint systems) to fiberglass sticks during or after the pultrusion process. This role ensures even coating coverage, adherence to quality standards, and proper curing for durability, appearance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Operate wet coating equipment used to apply paint or resin to fiberglass sticks.
- Ensure uniform coating thickness and full surface coverage.
- Monitor coating materials (resin/paint) for proper viscosity, temperature, and mix ratios.
- Adjust flow rates, rollers, or applicators to maintain consistent coating quality.
- Inspect coated products for defects such as bubbling, streaking, or incomplete coverage.
- Coordinate with pultrusion operators to maintain continuous production flow.
- Clean and maintain coating equipment, tanks, and application systems.
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality requirements.
- Track and document production output and coating parameters.
- Identify and troubleshoot coating or adhesion issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing, coatings, painting, or fiberglass/composites preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Experience with industrial coatings, paints, or resin systems.
- Knowledge of fiberglass or pultrusion processes.
- Familiarity with curing processes (UV, heat, or ambient).
- Attention to detail and consistency

- Proper chemical handling and storage procedures
- Maintain clean and organized work area
