Responsibilities
  • Being prompt for work and appointments is essential.
  • Keep a neat and clean appearance at all times.
  • Maintain an assigned CRM database daily, logging at least three new prospects and ten phone calls per day.
  • Make sure that if customers are not walking in, proper efforts are made toward promoting prospects through the service department, cold calls, and referrals.
  • Be prepared at the beginning of each shift to discuss the previous day's results and discuss current day's goals.
  • Sales consultants are responsible for getting payoffs on all auto transactions.
  • Keep a positive, honest, hard‑working attitude with team spirit and the mindset "It better be right or we’ll make it right."
  • Follow all sales department procedures for demonstration and price negotiation.
  • Answer the phone sincerely and promptly, always giving our name. All calls to the sales department are important; proper messages should be delivered to the correct people ASAP.
  • Produce knowledge of Washington State’s required legal documentation for deliveries, including out‑of‑state deliveries.
  • Follow through the delivery of a customer’s car from clean‑up, servicing, proper documentation, and test drive before licensing and delivery.
  • Keep the car showroom and new car display area clean and neat, with new cars properly aligned by model and color.
  • Notify management of any flaws in inventory, including demonstrators and cars in stock.
  • Carry out mail and phone follow‑up on each delivery within two days.
  • Floor schedule is worked on an open floor basis: both phone and walk‑ins.
  • Open new and used cars on the lot and arrange the lot if necessary.
  • Every evening before going home, all sales consultants must ensure everything is locked on the lot.
  • Track prospects and customer base in a company‑provided week‑at‑a‑glance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Work in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner with all personnel.
  • Treat members of the public and customers courteously and non‑discriminatorily.
  • Conform to company policy regarding non‑discrimination and harassment.

  • Automotive sales experience
  • Customer service and/or retail experience

  • Comfortable with compensation based on commission sales

  • Strong technology skills
Equipment and Tools Used
  • Phone, computer, adding machine, copier, calculator, stapler, fax machine, pencils/pens, letter opener, scissors, and rulers.
Physical Demands

Required long periods (80-90% of the workday) of standing and walking on the showroom floor and dealership lot, including the interior and exterior of the building. Capable of walking extensively on concrete. Infrequent sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Lifting 20 lbs or less and carrying 10 lbs or less on a frequent basis. Frequent pushing and pulling, twisting and turning of the trunk, reaching and handling objects, occasional climbing, balancing, and crawling.
