The Security Supervisor provides leadership and support to the security team, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and employees through active training, guidance, and maintaining a visible presence. They supervise regular patrols to deter suspicious activity, manage access control by verifying credentials, and respond swiftly and calmly to emergencies such as fires, injuries, thefts, and alarms, offering first responder assistance as needed.

This role involves securing and documenting incident scenes, gathering statements, preserving evidence, and ensuring compliance with all policies, regulations, and laws. The Security Supervisor collaborates with law enforcement, fire departments, and management to address criminal activity or emergencies, prevents loss by enforcing policies and addressing irregularities, and resolves customer concerns effectively. They maintain a thorough knowledge of casino properties, events, and gaming regulations while safeguarding confidential information and performing additional duties, including stepping into other security roles as needed, to uphold a secure and welcoming environment.

Pay begins at $25.57 and increases to $26.71 upon successful completion of 90‑day orientation period. This full‑time position features excellent employer‑paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Security Presence & Patrols: Maintain a visible presence, perform patrols, and control access to ensure safety and prevent suspicious activity.
  • Incident Response & Reporting: Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, secure incident scenes, and report to authorities as needed.
  • Training & Compliance: Train security staff and enforce gaming regulations, policies, and procedures.

    Risk Management:

    Prevent loss by reporting irregularities and collaborating with management and Tribal Gaming Agents.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete reports, resolve customer challenges, and perform other assigned tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Some college courses in law enforcement or related field is preferred.
  • At least two or more years experience in law enforcement or security is required.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred. Gaming experience required.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s license. Ability to be insured and bonded.
  • Excellent driving record; must provide a recent copy of driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
COMPETENCIES

The Security Supervisor brings extensive knowledge of casino operations, security protocols, fire inspection procedures, surveillance systems, incident documentation, and tribal‑state compact regulations. Strong skills in problem‑solving, computer proficiency, radio communication, report writing, crowd management, observation, customer service, and organizational efficiency are essential to this role. The position requires the ability to provide training, communicate effectively, handle high‑stress situations, maintain control during incidents, multitask efficiently, and ensure accurate reporting and thorough inspections, all while upholding professionalism, confidentiality, and strict adherence to policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Use of eyesight; hand and finger dexterity.
  • Working around loud noises.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, crawling, pushing, and lifting or carrying up to 75 pounds.
  • Performing duties indoors on the gaming floor in a crowded, smoke‑filled environment and outside throughout the casino grounds in various types of weather conditions.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays.

All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre‑employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
