The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for routing and managing the day-to-day transportation operations for our distribution centers. This is an onsite position at our Fife, WA Distribution Center.
Shift
Schedule:
Onsite Monday – Friday 8 am– 4:30 pm, with flexibility based on the needs of the business. This role also requires up to 15% travel based on business needs.
- Hire all transportation team members, ensuring proper documentation completion and processing.
- Ensure compliance of all driver DQF records.
- Monitor and audit all driver logbooks (elogs) to maintain required standards.
- Create and maintain a safety culture; schedule quarterly driver safety meetings.
- Follow IFS standards.
- Ensure all vehicle documentation is current and complete.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in safe operation and clean.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules for truck drivers.
- Coordinate schedules with Operations, Procurement, and Sales to satisfy customer needs.
- Coordinate LTL and FULL load deliveries with outside carriers; obtain competitive price quotes.
- Investigate customer complaints regarding damaged items, driver performance, and shipment delays; make necessary adjustments.
- Use Descartes, Lytx/Drivecam, and Geotab for dispatching, routing, and tracking.
- Investigate and report MV accidents and work injuries involving Dawn drivers.
- Follow all program procedures and company policy and DOT laws.
- Manage transportation department requests for vacation, days off, suggestions, or safety concerns.
- Perform other duties or assignments as needed.
- Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” and support the Circle of Excellence.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of transportation management experience with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Experience leading or overseeing domicile-based driver teams.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- Proficient in presenting information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and colleagues.
- Problem‑solving and conflict resolution training and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and SAP.
- Experience with routing and GPS systems (Road Net, Green Mile, Geo Tab) preferred.
- CDL A preferred.
- Requires motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
- Exert physical effort in handling objects over 50 pounds.
- Required vision abilities: distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus.
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures.
- Work primarily in plant or office, sometimes exposed to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes.
Salary range $68,700 - $105,800 with bonus incentive.
