Staff Accountant

Position Summary: Maintain and perform a variety of accounting duties including payroll, collections, reconciliations, and audits.

Reports to: Mellissa Fields, Sr. Payroll Accountant;
Tammy Spoon, Vice President of HR

Job Responsibilities

• Update employee data in Arcoro and Sage for ACI Const. Co., Inc.
• Process weekly payroll for ACI Const. Co. Inc., ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees
• Verify and reconcile payroll data, including hours and deductions
• Backup Sr. Payroll Accountant with payroll for other divisions
• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly
• Maintain payroll records to ensure compliance
• Assist in monthly union reporting for other divisions

• Monthly reporting of Ohio EEOC I-29 for all divisions
• Reconcile health insurance benefits
• Assist with administration of employee benefits programs
• Backup HR Specialist with onboarding

• Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments
• Communicate with clients regarding overdue invoices and payment arrangements
• Call, prepare, and send collection notices; follow up on unpaid accounts
• Maintain accurate records of collection activities and update CFO, Sr. Staff Accountants, and Operations
• Collaborate with CFO, Sr. Staff Accounts, and Operations on the status of past-due invoices
• Run weekly accounts receivable aging reports and distribute with status updates
• Assist in accounting tasks as required

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors
• Represent the company professionally at public functions
• Promote Kirk Corporation within the construction industry

• Maintain good communication and teamwork with Operations
• Interact with other departments to ensure a flow of information and good working relationships

• Interact with counterparts within Kirk Corporation to ensure mutual benefit
• Collaborate with executive staff to support best business and construction practices
