Position Summary
Crude Gathering manages the strategic execution of new and existing business development for liquid assets in the Permian, San Juan, and Williston Basins. The team’s advisors leverage commercial skill, operational knowledge, and industry network to support the enterprise fuel value chain network while growing the business through identification of key strategic investments. The Analyst partners with advisors to support development and execution of all business opportunities led by Crude Gathering.
Key Responsibilities- Provides analytical, forecasting, and economic support to inform strategic decision‑making and project development.
- Works closely with various internal stakeholders on building financial modeling, investment analysis, and performance evaluations.
- Develops and maintains economic models for projects and commercial opportunities.
- Performs or assists in project lookback evaluations and post‑expenditure reviews.
- Identifies opportunities to leverage modeling to support strategic decisions.
- Partners with field operations teams to support continuous improvement opportunities, troubleshoot issues by leveraging data, and improve business performance through data analysis and sharing.
- Works cross‑functionally in managing volume, revenue and capital forecast while maintaining production/volume and throughput forecasts for MPLX systems.
- Completes customer, competitor, and industry benchmarking analyses to inform strategic and cost‑management decisions.
- Builds and maintains analytical dashboards and reporting tools.
- Proactively identifies data‑driven opportunities to improve performance or grow the business.
- Provides analytical support for growth opportunities, system planning, system constraints, and performance metrics.
- Manages continuous improvement with analytical tools, including collaboration with business partners in Commercial, VCO, and MPLX.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or related field required. Five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, economic modeling, forecasting, or data analytics. Strong experience developing economic models and financial analyses for infrastructure projects. Possesses a strong understanding of liquids midstream operations.
