Construction Estimator

Location: Findlay, Ohio
Job Type: Full-Time

ACI Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team in Findlay, Ohio. This position plays an important role in evaluating upcoming projects, developing accurate cost projections, and helping the company make informed decisions about which opportunities to pursue.

The right person will be comfortable working with construction plans, specifications, subcontractor and supplier information, and project-related costs. We are looking for someone who can balance accuracy and efficiency while working toward bid deadlines.

As a Construction Estimator, you will help take a project from the initial review stage through the preparation and submission of a competitive bid.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
• Analyze the scope of work to identify materials, labor, equipment, subcontracted work, and other project costs
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing information
• Request and compare quotes from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Research material and labor costs to support accurate estimates
• Identify potential project risks, exclusions, and items that may affect overall costs
• Develop and maintain organized estimating worksheets and bid documentation
• Work with project management and operations personnel to understand project requirements
• Assist with determining appropriate pricing and overall project strategy
• Review completed estimates for accuracy and completeness before bids are submitted
• Maintain records of estimates and pricing information for future reference
• Track upcoming bid opportunities and assist with meeting bid submission deadlines
• Communicate with internal team members, vendors, subcontractors, and other project contacts as needed

We’re looking for someone who is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven construction environment.

A strong candidate will have:

• Previous construction estimating experience or related construction industry experience
• The ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• The ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines at the same time
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard computer applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions while also collaborating with a team

Experience with construction estimating software, project management systems, or related technology is a plus.
