Hygienist Job in Findlay, OH
Dental Hygienist Findlay, OH Full Time
- Monday
- Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-2. Compensation: $36-$37 per hour or 30% of net production whichever is greater.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess patient dental health and needs using screening techniques, including medical history evaluation, dental charting, and periodontal charting
- Deliver hands-on patient care in accordance with established dental hygiene standards
- Take and record patient vital signs
- Perform routine procedures such as prophylaxis and polishing
- Capture diagnostic radiographs as required by the dentist for treatment decisions
- Apply sealants and fluoride applications
- Manage digital patient records
- Record dental history and main complaint
- Document and report significant clinical findings
- Instruct patients on preventing cavities and periodontal disease through diet and proper home care
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments
- Create treatment plan as prescribed by the dentist
- Review treatment plan and associated costs with the patient
- Effectively communicate patient concerns to the dentist
- Act as lead treatment coordinator
- Handle supplementary tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
- Must be reliable
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene certificate or associate degree program with current hygienist license
- Able to think independently and exercise good judgment
- Capable of developing, affecting, interpreting, and/or implementing operational practices
- Exhibits a collaborative team approach to duties
- Demonstrates initiative, dependability, and promptness
- Performs frequent repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail
- Adapts to varying work assignments with a positive mindset
- Follows directions and accepts responsibility for own actions
- Upholds strict confidentiality regarding patients and their treatment
- Comprehends safety guidelines, procedure manuals, and written correspondence
- Understands instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
