Position Title
Applicant Pool for Aspire Instructor (Grant-Funded) (Findlay)
Program OverviewOhio’s Aspire programs (formerly ABLE) provide free services for adult individuals to acquire skills for post‑secondary education, training, and employment. Classes are offered at various locations and times throughout the metro‑Toledo area, including Findlay.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary instruction in assigned classes (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Career).
- Develop and maintain curriculum, confidential files and regular record keeping.
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and technology integration.
- Manage classroom, integrate teaching, and ensure accountability for state Aspire outcomes and minimum performance levels.
- Provide career guidance and other duties as assigned.
- Effectively manage Aspire classroom and meet student and program outcomes per Ohio minimum performance levels.
- Complete and submit student enrollment and progress data accurately and by deadlines.
- Create and follow lesson plans addressing various learning styles and incorporating basic technology tools.
- Utilize Ohio Aspire Student Experience Model and maintain all required elements.
- Complete all state‑required professional development by posted deadlines.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and effective classroom management techniques.
- Knowledge of research‑based instructional strategies and State Aspire policy.
- Proficiency with MS Office, general computer operation, file‑sharing technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage stressful situations, multitask and perform under pressure.
- Flexible, dependable, compassionate, professional, sensitive to needs and experiences of adult learners.
- Bachelor's degree.
- One or more years of teaching experience.
