Who are you?

You are a caring and dedicated professional that is passionate about providing early childhood programming youths, parents, families, and professionals within the community. You thrive in settings where you can provide professional development, community consultation, and educational services - anything from early childhood mental health and emotional wellness to parenting skills are topics that you would touch on. Engaging with and maintaining relationships with other community partners is important to the success of the position to maintain a strong community presence.

You have:
  • Previous experience working with youth in an educational setting
  • A valid driver's license and ability to maintain auto insurance, as the position requires travel within the community (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • CPR/First Aid certification and willingness to submit background check and fingerprinting
  • Ability to regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR, and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously
Preferably:
  • Bachelor's degree in social services or education
  • Professional certification as an Early Childhood Mental Health Professional
  • Previous experience providing consultation services in an educational setting
How you'll make a difference in this role:

You are passionate about your ability to provide targeted early childhood mental health center-based consultation services to provide support to local professionals that may include: training, technical assistance, coaching, classroom observation, review and consultation with school staff, among several other ways of support.
  • Consultation services will include individual and classroom for child care providers, as well as providing education and training on social emotional development. This includes linking families to appropriate services for themselves and/or their children.
  • Coordinate and develop trainings that will facilitate the use of standards and assessments by early childhood providers in support of social-emotional development, as well as approaches to learning to targeted preschool programs, child care centers, and family homes.
  • Implement programs and services necessary to meet the needs of clients. Provide community consultation/education services regarding mental illness and substance abuse prevention. Prepare classroom behavioral assessments regarding youth's behavior management.
  • Gather any necessary date as required by OhioMHAS, compile and submit quarterly activity reports.
  • Your own continual education and learning is important to you - participate in ODE/ODJFS approved training on classroom and assessment tools, supervision (both individual and group), and other continuing educational opportunities that enhance your professional and job-related skills
