Paraprofessional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our educational team as a Classroom Paraprofessional. This role involves providing essential support to teachers and students in a classroom setting. Responsibilities:
  • Student Support:
    • Assist and support students with diverse learning needs, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs).
    • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to reinforce classroom lessons.
  • Classroom Assistance:
    • Collaborate with teachers to implement instructional activities and support classroom management.
    • Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.
  • Behavioral Support:
    • Implement behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with the teacher to address individual student needs.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervision:
    • Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and other settings as needed.
    • Assist with ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, school staff, and parents regarding student progress and behavior.
    • Collaborate with the teaching team to provide feedback on student performance.
  • Assessment Support:
    • Assist in the administration and scoring of assessments under the guidance of the teacher.
    • Provide feedback on student work and assist with data collection.
  • Adaptation and Differentiation:
    • Support the implementation of accommodations and modifications for students with diverse needs.
    • Assist in adapting instructional materials to meet individual student requirements.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Stay informed about best practices in education and special education.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or coursework in education is a plus).

Ohio Educational Aide Permit with Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) endorsement

  • ESEA endorsement is obtained by passing the Para Pro Assessment; or holding an associate's degree; or having at least 2 years of study at an accredited institution of higher education
  • Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support student learning.
