Job Summary

We are seeking applicants for a Business Development Manager specializing in per/poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), contaminants of emerging concern (CEC), and microplastics treatment. This position supports the strategic direction of the company for successful technological developments, solutions, and improvements. The Business Development Manager will report to the President of KWU. The primary function of this role is to serve as KWU’s expert on PFAS, CEC, and microplastics.

Responsibilities include studying treatment markets, coordinating and piloting new technologies for compatibility with Kubota M  systems, and advancing technologies along the technology readiness level (TRL) scale. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of chemistry, specifically as it relates to PFAS, CEC, microplastics, and water/wastewater treatment processes. A high degree of initiative, independent thinking, and creativity is essential. Knowledge of wastewater treatment and/or membrane bioreactor (M ) processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

This position will focus on PFAS-related research projects, technology piloting, PFAS market evaluation and business development.

  • Oversee business and technological development of treatment technologies for PFAS, CEC, and microplastics.
  • Collaborate with Kubota Japan’s Research Department, including preparing and presenting reports and data.
  • Lead experimental planning and design, including data analysis and interpretation.
  • Manage projects, including capital planning, budget management, and system commissioning.
  • Write and present technical reports, summarizing results for conference papers, and presentations.
  • Develop strong working relationships with engineering consulting firms, utilities, and industry partners to conduct joint research projects at treatment plants, industrial sites, or other facilities.
  • Advance technology readiness levels from basic principles to actual full-scale systems.
Qualifications
  • B.S. or  chemistry, environmental science or environmental engineering, with research experience in a PFAS destruction.
  • Knowledge/experience in the water,wastewater industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry, environmental science or environmental engineering, with research experience in a PFAS and CEC-related capacity.
  • Bachelors or MBA and/or experience in business environments.
  • Knowledge/experience with wastewater/water sample collection and analysis.
  • Direct knowledge/experience of M  systems and or other wastewater treatmenttechnology.

The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s geographic location; education; skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications. Hired candidate will be eligible to receive a base salary plus discretionary annual bonus.
