Customer Service Rep, Event Manager / Planner, Event Staff/ Venue Crew
Job Summary
Event Staff are Ilitch Sports + Entertainment ambassadors providing all guests with a positive, lasting impression of the Fox Theatre by delivering a superior guest experience, including greeting, directing, assisting, and building relationships with guests and Fox staff. This position serves as the front‑line for public and private events.
Key Responsibilities- Greet guests, scan tickets upon entry, and answer questions.
- Share The Fox Theatre history and provide directions inside and outside the venue.
- Assist and educate guests about accessible services.
- Direct guests in accordance with venue safety policies and procedures.
- Comprehend, direct, and implement emergency duties, including venue evacuations.
- Manage crowds, directing large and small crowds according to operational guidelines.
- Work in roles such as ticket scanner, seating, elevator operator, curtain attendant, and other duties assigned by Guest Services Supervisor or Fox Management.
- Monitor assigned area during events; control entry into venue access points and address guest issues, including unauthorized use of video or photography equipment.
- Engage with non‑compliant guests to inform required corrective action, contacting supervisor or management if the situation escalates.
- Celebrate guest moments and resolve complaints or issues.
- Carry out any job functions assigned by management to create a memorable guest experience, covering theater, event spaces, guest service, pre‑event preparation, post‑event breakdown, safety, emergency response, and security.
- Assist guests needing wheelchair escorts.
- Work with other departments to provide every guest with the best possible experience.
Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma and one to two years of customer service‑related experience.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely under pressure.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and colleagues.
- Irregular and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Noisy work environment.
- Operate in a dim environment and maintain frequent visual/auditory attention.
- Occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Work is subject to changes at the discretion of Olympia Entertainment.
