Position OverviewMPC has an opportunity for an Associate BP&A Analyst/BP&A Analyst! The role is responsible for capturing, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting financial and operational data to support the organization. This Analyst will specifically own cash flow reporting, analysis, and forecasting. These responsibilities are carried out in support of the annual Business Plan, monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasting, and other related initiatives.
The analyst collaborates with data providers from across the enterprise to consolidate operating dynamics and outlooks into cash flow forecasts that guide senior leadership in strategic decisions regarding cash and liquidity management, capital investments, and shareholder returns. This role will report to the BP&A Consolidations Director and be based in Findlay, Ohio.
- Gathers data from various sources for monthly and quarterly value chain, commercial operational and financial performance analysis; organizes this data to create a structured foundation for further analysis.
- Assists in the development of cash flow statements for actuals, forecasts, and the Business Plan.
- Conducts analysis of key drivers, variance analyses, and sensitivity modeling.
- Maintains or develops financial models to support monitoring of KPIs and performance metrics or other ad‑hoc requests.
- Collaborates, with guidance, with Refining/Commercial division, Accounting and Tax team members to gather operational or financial information and support ongoing analysis and reporting.
- Identifies areas for process improvement within the role, proposing changes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline required.
- Zero (0)–Three (3)+ years in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Preferred system experience: SAP (BW and Group Reporting) and Right‑Angle.
- Proficiency with analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
