HR Generalist / Talent Management, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will support MPC’s CFO organization with a wide range of human resource functions and partner with organizational leaders to achieve business objectives. The HRBP provides guidance on employee relations, HR strategy, restructuring, workforce and succession planning, employee development, performance, staffing, investigations, inclusion and opportunity initiatives, and HR policy administration.
Responsibilities- Implements HR strategies aligned with business needs through influence and change management.
- Develops and maintains strong business relationships with client groups to drive results, serving as a key member of business unit leadership teams.
- Guides and assists employees in understanding and administering HR policies, procedures, practices, and programs.
- Provides performance consulting, including training, needs assessments, organizational development, and meeting facilitation.
- Collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to develop strategies that respond to changing needs.
- Conducts investigations and prepares facts for resolution of employee disputes and grievances.
- Participates in negotiation with employee unions and assists in interpreting labor contracts, including arbitration.
- Promotes and fosters inclusion and opportunity to support a high-performing culture.
- Partners with assigned client groups on administration of HR policies and programs related to employment, compensation, benefits, labor relations, and other matters.
- Researches, documents, and presents special projects as assigned.
- Assesses information and recommends company action based on findings and available funding.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, or related field highly preferred.
- Master’s in HR strongly preferred.
- Two (2) years of related HR Business Partner experience required.
- Experience supporting senior leadership preferred.
- Proficiency in a large HRIS (e.g., Workday) preferred.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet organizational needs and goals.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and limited information while engaging stakeholders to reach clarity.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and organizational needs simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build good working relationships with internal clients and external partners.
- High curiosity; eager to learn and understand a wide range of energy industry, business, and creative subject matter.
- Advanced experience with relationship management, building healthy working relationships, and partnering with all levels of employees.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Attention-to-detail, analytical, and team-oriented mindset.
Travel is required throughout the year to meet with clients; travel frequency may increase as business needs arise.
