As an IT Audit Intern, you will receive on‑the‑job training and assist the IT Audit team in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of our IT controls, processes, and systems. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in IT auditing within the dynamic environment of the petroleum industry.
You will help plan and execute IT audits, conduct risk assessments, evaluate control effectiveness, document and analyze IT processes, and identify areas for improvement and potential risks. Your role includes supporting the development and implementation of audit programs and procedures, collaborating with IT and business teams to gather information, validating audit findings, preparing clear audit reports, and participating in follow‑up activities to ensure recommendations are implemented.
Staying up to date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to IT auditing will be essential.
Internship Dates:
August 17th – December 4th.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and security principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Strong academic performance.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full‑time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Available for the spring, summer, or fall semesters.
- Concurrent enrollment in a degree‑seeking program for the duration of the experience.
- Reliable transportation to and from the place of work.
- Military experience is a plus.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $23.65 – $29.57 per hour.
