These streams include benzene, toluene, xylenes, and cumene. The Petrochemical Scheduler has primary responsibilities to manage inventories, production, and logistics (including rail, truck, barge and pipeline) to meet forecasts and work with an array of internal organizations and external business partners to ensure uninterrupted refinery operations.
The successful candidate should possess sound interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills as well as be organized, self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment. This position works closely with Trading, Refining, VCO, Product Quality and T&L (Rail, Transport, and Marine) to ensure optimization of olefin and aromatic balances.
The open position manages our regional Propylene scheduling desk, with opportunities to support additional olefins and aromatics scheduling initiatives.#
Key Responsibilities
* Nominates and schedules pipeline, waterborne, truck, rail and/or delivery movements through use of propriety and third-party scheduling systems. Monitors inventories and shipping schedules daily to ensure that supply meets demand.
* Communicates and verifies planned movements with all stakeholders, including but not limited to traders, optimizers, internal and external counter parties, customers, suppliers, producers, marketers, terminals, vessels, and pipelines.
* Provides timely and accurate inventory position information to Trading, Pricing, Marketing, Trucking and Supervision.
* Responds to unexpected events making contingency arrangements to minimize disruption of supply.
* Initiates and coordinates movements independently through Marathon’s distribution channels based on a given plan.
* Identifies and communicates constraints and begins to identify optimization opportunities on their desk.
* Gains knowledge of the costs of transportation associated with the movements on their desk. Learns the regional supply picture.#
Education and Experience Scheduler
* Bachelor’s degree required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu.
* Two (2) or more years of industry-related experience required.
Senior Scheduler
* Bachelor’s degree required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu
