Position Summary

The Material Master Creation Supervisor reports to the Supply Chain Data Strategy Manager in the Refining Supply Chain Strategy & Planning organization. The role provides leadership and supervision for the Master Data Processors and contingent workers who process material master data requests related to the creation, extension, change, and deletion of material master data records.
Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with master data governance requirements, system best practices, and departmental policies, as well as providing input on enhancements, troubleshooting, data loads, and application testing for system upgrades.
This position is located in Findlay, OH but may be based at any refining or midstream office location upon review.
Responsibilities- Direct the day-to-day activities of the team responsible for processing material master data requests in support of Procurement, Inventory Control, Accounting, and Maintenance objectives, ensuring compliance with corporate-wide policies and industry best practices.
- Maximize material data quality through assessment of newly created data, monitoring of standards, and feedback from business partners and internal stakeholders.
- Set clear team expectations, assign, monitor, and review work tasks, and provide timely, constructive feedback through coaching and mentoring.
- Identify, develop, and maintain training materials and programs to ensure team members are adequately trained and new members are onboarded efficiently.
- Assist team members and business stakeholders in troubleshooting and resolving material master data related issues.
- Ensure material requests are satisfactorily completed, approved, and interactions with requestors are performed professionally.
- Measure and monitor request cycle times to meet key objectives, proactively adjusting processes to satisfy stakeholder needs.
- Communicate expedited requests to team members to ensure work assignments are prioritized according to stakeholder expectations.
- Communicate team accomplishments, risks, challenges, system enhancements, data insights, and metrics to Supply Chain leadership on a periodic basis.
- Work collaboratively with other Supply Chain and EBS leaders to develop strategies, operational plans, and resolve issues in support of commercial and maintenance activities.
- Participate in the management of team staffing needs, including hiring, identifying temporary assignments, and interviewing and selecting future team members.
- Gather, review, and disseminate material master data related lessons learned to drive positive behavioral changes and continuous improvement activities.
- Act as the Process Owner for the company’s material master data creation and maintenance system, providing direction and guidance to system support teams on technical issues, functional expectations, and enhancement opportunities.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Five (5) or more years of facilities or business relevant experience.
