Position:
High-Pressure Boiler Operator
The High-Pressure Boiler Operator operates, serves, and maintains power equipment and systems, including boilers, compressors, pumps, and turbines. The operator also checks condensation systems throughout the plant and performs corrective actions to maintain proper chemical levels.
Shift InformationThis position works a 12-hour shift and must be able to work any shift (day or night) on a 2-2-3 continuous operation schedule, which includes Saturdays and Sundays.
Work Environment- Fast-paced heavy industrial environment.
- Environmental conditions may be hot, cold, or noisy.
- Safety is a top priority; the operator must always adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, wearing hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes.
- Drain all water accumulated in receivers and separators.
- Check and maintain traps in the boiler room on steam mains.
- Routinely monitor equipment.
- Takes water samples and tests them.
- Performs necessary corrective actions to maintain proper chemical levels.
- Performs repairs as needed.
- Logs all changes and problems related to the boiler/boiler controls.
- Maintains inventory of replacement parts and chemicals.
- Attends training classes provided to enhance knowledge and services required by classification.
- Punctuality and attendance are extremely important; dependable attendance is expected.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age 18.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Ability to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend, and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License required.
- Ability to work at heights of up to 100 feet.
Base Pay: $37.62 per hour with an additional $0.65 per hour shift differential for night shifts. Sign‑on bonus of $1,000: $250 paid after the first week of employment and $750 after 90 days of employment. Candidates must be new employees and not rehired to be eligible.
