C Shift Production Operator
This is for a C shift position only - hours are 11pm - 7am Sunday night through Friday morning. Must be available for daily or weekend overtime if required.
General SummarySafely and efficiently run and manage production processes. Troubleshoot and make adjustments as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Safe and efficient operation of production equipment and processes for which the associate has been qualified for. Maintain and report all production, efficiency, scrap, and capability data on a daily basis, per the requirements of the job assigned. Understand and adhere to all job instructions for any production process for which the associate has been qualified on or is training on.
Observe and support all Sanoh America safety, housekeeping, and conduct policies. Understand and maintain all quality specifications for all production processes for which the associate has been qualified on or for which they are being trained on. Train for additional production processes, as required by supervisor or designee. Train other Sanoh America associates on any production process, as required by supervisor or designee.
Use of all personal protective equipment required per the job or per general Sanoh America policies. Observe and maintain efficient machine and process operation; adjust controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances; troubleshoot machine and process problems. Maintain basic tooling and equipment – conduct tooling changeovers and adjustments; verify and adjust alignment of various tooling, guides, etc.; maintain correct operational parameters for equipment and processes (temperature, pressure, dimensions, etc.)
Read, understand and adhere to all job instructions for any production process for which the associate has been qualified on or is trained on (for example, hazardous waste/material handling procedures).
Education and/or Experience
Training and qualification on production jobs assigned.
RequiredSkills and Abilities
General understanding of metric length measurement; specifically measuring length in millimeters. Basic reading and/or comprehension skills; able to read and/or understand job instructions and safety requirements. Basic math skills. Good communication and listening skills. Good troubleshooting / critical thinking skills — using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Detail-oriented; able to focus on and verify multiple characteristics.
RequiredDecision-Making and Organization Impact
Inspect tubing for defects, and measure tubing using gauges, templates, or other measuring instruments to determine whether the material meets customer requirements – if decisions made are not effective, likely results include higher scrap rate, inefficiency at downstream operations, and higher chance of defective parts getting to the customer. Conducting tooling changeovers and adjustments – if this is not done effectively, likely results include excess downtime, scrap and quality problems, and perhaps injuries.
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to determine whether a machine is working properly – if decisions are not effective, likely results include materials not meeting specifications, higher rate of machine downtime and repair costs, along with higher scrap and defect rates downstream.
This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Working ConditionsPlant floor. Overtime of varying levels may be required with this position.
