Overview
Gallipolis Christian Church is prayerfully seeking a Gospel-centered Pastor to serve and shepherd our congregation. We are a Christ-focused, elder-led church committed to glorifying God, making disciples, and reaching our community with the love of Jesus Christ.
Position OverviewThe Pastor will serve as a shepherd, teacher, and leader within the church body, faithfully preaching God’s Word, equipping the saints for ministry, and walking alongside the elders in spiritual oversight of the congregation.
Qualifications- A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, marked by humility, prayer, and personal holiness
- Strong commitment to the authority of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ
- A true shepherd’s heart—loving, guiding, and caring for the flock (1 Peter 5:1–4)
- Agreement with and support of elder-led church governance
- Experience in pastoral ministry required; seminary or Bible college training preferred
- Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully and consistently
- Lead with the elders in shepherding the congregation and discerning God’s direction for the church
- Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and counseling as needed
- Equip and encourage the body to live out the Great Commission
- Model servant leadership in word and deed
- Oversee paid staff and volunteer ministry leaders
Starting salary: $55,000, with adjustments based on education and experience. Additional benefits to be discussed during the interview process.
