About Bio Life Plasma Services

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About

the role

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions according to SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician standing orders, and arrange donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and decide on further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
What you bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactory completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
