Commercial Business Development Officer

About the Role

We’re seeking a high-performing, results-driven Commercial Business Development Officer to grow our commercial lending pipeline. This is a sales role ideal for someone who thrives on hunting new business, building a strong referral network, and closing deals. You’ll be accountable for generating loan opportunities, expanding partner relationships, and directly impacting portfolio growth. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission tied to your production, giving top performers the opportunity to significantly increase their total earnings.

• Relationship Builder: Proven ability to develop and maintain strong connections with brokers, investors, accountants, attorneys, and other referral sources
• Results-Driven: Focused on meeting or exceeding loan origination goals and contributing to overall portfolio growth
• Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently to generate leads, manage pipeline activity, and meet deadlines
• Financial Acumen: Understanding of commercial, construction, and lot loan products, including pricing and structure
• Detail-Oriented: Able to manage documentation, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Education & Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in commercial lending business development with a two-year degree or equivalent specialized training

Your daily responsibilities may include:

• Build and maintain relationships to generate commercial loan opportunities
• Gather documentation from applicants and referral partners for loan evaluation
• Submit complete loan packages to the Commercial Lending team for review
• Maintain borrower relationships, including collecting ongoing financial documentation
• Represent the organization professionally with partners, credit unions, and the community
• Collaborate with internal teams to support a smooth origination process
• Help our partners prosper by meeting or exceeding the assigned commercial loan origination goals on an annual basis
• Maintain high service standards and partner satisfaction
• Support additional projects and responsibilities as needed
