The AR/Billing Manager will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of accounts receivable and billing professionals. This individual will have a strong grasp of all accounts receivable functions, will oversee the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices and payments, and will ensure their team adheres to company policies, deadlines, and financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Provide training and coaching to lead and develop your group into a collaborative and supportive team.
- Lead the team through ERP implementation and go-live activities, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the AR and billing processes
- Invoice Processing & Customer Relations
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the full AR, Cash Receipts, and Billing process. Continuously seek better ways to do things by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and reduce manual tasks over time.
- Ensure all Customers are billed timely and accurately, and that statements are updated and sent each month.
- Oversee the processing of customer payments via lockbox, credit card, or ACH. Balance to the bank daily and monthly, ensuring timely resolution of payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including the reconciliation of accounts receivable records to the general ledger.
- Prepare periodic accounts receivable and billing reports for management review.
- A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced technology skills, including accounting software and Excel
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- A proactive, positive attitude and an eagerness to exceed expectations.
