The City of Franklin is currently accepting applications for the position of Sewer Utility Office Billing Clerk.
This position manages the accurate calculation, invoicing, and collection of sanitation sewer fees, wastewater,
stormwater and trash by maintaining customer accounts, processing payments, addressing inquiries and preparing
delinquent notices. This role requires strong customer service ability, strong data entry and math skills, and a very high
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Processes payments received in the office and post the payments onto the computer billing system.
- Maintains and balances personal cash drawer
- Maintains customer files by updating and processing all account information and sending necessary
- correspondence to the customers.
- Maintains and submits customer information via Laser Fiche for account updates including rental and new owner
- information.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, explain and apply department policies, procedures, standards and work
- methods.
- Must be able to process monetary transactions, perform basic math and work with numbers and spreadsheets.
- Must possess great customer service ability displaying sensitivity and professionalism.
- Must show attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
- Must have general knowledge of all office machines. Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Keystone-billing, and Laser Fiche. Being a Notary Public is a plus.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus previous, relevant office experience.
