Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Cello Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cello performance and pedagogy, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. The Cello Teacher will provide personalized instruction, develop lesson plans, and create a positive learning atmosphere for students.
Responsibilities- Provide one‑on‑one and group cello lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and goals of each student.
- Teach proper cello techniques, music theory, and performance skills.
- Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and examinations as needed.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Communicate regularly with students and their families regarding progress and any concerns.
- Stay current with teaching methods, repertoire, and trends in music education.
- Participate in school events, recitals, and community outreach programs as required.
- Determine student goals and objectives, and discuss lesson details with them.
- Structure individual lessons based on client preferences and goals.
- Provide students with appropriate materials and resources.
- Show up on time for scheduled practice sessions, recitals, competitions, and other events.
- Teach music theory, helping students sharpen sight‑reading, memorization, improvisation, or other student‑defined goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (required).
- Proven experience teaching cello to students of various ages and skill levels (required).
- Strong proficiency in cello performance and a solid understanding of music theory (required).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (required).
- Ability to inspire and motivate students in their musical journey (required).
- Patience, creativity, and passion for teaching music (required).
- Availability to teach at least 8 hours per week, including evenings and weekends (preferred).
- Core teaching hours: 4 pm to 8 pm on two evenings per week (preferred).
