Qualifications:
30+ college credits or the international equivalent (Para Pathways Exam can be taken in lieu of), Indiana Sub permit or valid Indiana teaching license. Must be able to read and follow teacher prepared lesson plans and able to write detailed notes about the day. Must be able to speak and understand English when leading a class. Kind, flexible and able to maintain classroom control.
Receptive to coaching and feedback from other staff and building administrators. Able to build rapport with students and staff. Must speak and act in a respectful, acceptable and safe manner. Detail oriented in following directions and maintaining student safety. Must successfully complete an HSE employment background check performed by a third-party provider.

To enable each student to have a positive day while maintaining and protecting student safety at all times.
Reports to:
District and Building Sub Coordinators
The Full Time Special Forces Sub serves exceptional learners (special education) classrooms. The sub will either float each day in the district, typically by a mutually agreed upon grade level (Elementary, Intermediate/Junior High/High school). If there is not a need in exceptional learners, Full Time Special Forces Full Time sub can work in any district classroom. FT Special Forces Subs are paid daily mileage to and from either their home school or the administration office if floating.
Full Time subs MUST have dependable transportation in case they need to switch schools mid day.
Full Time Subs are also eligible for optional insurance benefits and a matching contribution by the district into Indiana teacher's retirement.
